The primary support for producing quality films is an abundant budget. That way, the producer/director can pay for seasoned actors, stunning visual displays, etc. However, this does not apply to some films. With a budget that is only less than 1 million US dollars, the following five selected films are of exceptional quality. What are the films? Here's the review.

1. The Blair Witch Project (1999) - 60,000 US dollars

Lovers of horror films may be familiar with this one film. Yes, many think that The Blair Witch Project is the scariest horror film ever. In the era, cinematographic styles found-footage are still rarely found. However, Blair Witch is also not the first horror film to use the found-footage style. It can only be said, he made it famous and followed many other horror films afterward.

This film feels very real. The audience seemed to think in the movie. A tense atmosphere will always envelop.

2. Primary (2004) - 7,000 US dollars

It may be said that the Primer is a science-fiction film about the most original time travel. Primary presents story ideas that are quite simple but with very different plots. It's just that, the audience must focus while watching so they can follow and understand the storyline. Amazingly, this film was directed, produced, written, edited, and printed by one person, namely Shane Carruth who was also the main actor in the movie.

3. Pi (1998) - 60,000 US dollars

Speaking of science-fiction films, it feels like I missed this one. Yes, Pi is a film that is quite phenomenal among connoisseurs of science-fiction cinema. Pi combines science-fiction, psychological, and mystery elements. The three factors have the same portion and are put together brilliantly. This film is debuted veteran director Darren Aronofsky, who later directed box-office films such as Requiem for a Dream (2000), Black Swan (2010), and finally Mother! (2017).

4. The Man from Earth (2007) - 200,000 US dollars

This is a fantastic movie! This science-fiction film seems to test the audience's reasoning power. It will slightly shake the faith of the audience!

Although almost all the scenes are in one place, the story ideas and dialogues that are very interesting will make the audience stunted with this film. Plus, a plot twist that will make the audience smile wryly. A movie that is very dear to miss.

5. One Cut of the Dead (2017) - 25,000 US dollars

Are you bored with zombies like that? Then you should try this one zombie movie from Japan! You don't think what a zombie movie will be like. The One Cut of the Dead story idea is very refreshing and is different from the others.

Maybe, in the beginning, you will underestimate this film, but as time goes by, you will like this movie. You will laugh out loud with a very original comedy. Very entertaining film!

Okay, that's five cheap films but with fantastic quality. So, from the five movies above, which ones have you watched?
